This is the superb E220 CDI model, which is the most economical of the diesel engine options offered by Mercedes. The excellent 2.2 litre engine returns 38mpg, and genuinely does not feel underpowered unlike many of the smaller-engined options offered by other manufacturers. The 0-60mph time is an extremely respectable 8.8 seconds, and the car has a top speed of 135mph – so more than capable for day to day driving or cruising motorways.
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in glorious metallic silver and is in excellent condition all-around. There may be couple of small stone chips to the front of the car as to be expected – but we’re being overtly picky, you’d have to purposefully search around for them!
The alloy wheels are the optional extra 18†Sport alloys, which really do give the car a much more modern and sporty look than the standard 16†alloys. Tyres are all in excellent order with plenty of tread remaining.
The car has front and rear parking sensors fitted, which emit an audible series of bleeps to the driver – which can be extremely useful when parking in tight spaces.
The car is fitted with folding wing mirrors, which are set to automatically unfold when you open a door, and automatically fold back into place when you lock the car again.
Make no mistakes – this car looks absolute stunning. A real eye-catcher!
THE INTERIOR:
The seats are finished in black leather, and all seats are all in extremely good condition. Leather was an option extra for the E Class, and originally would have cost £969 as an option.
The front seats are both heated for maximum comfort on those cold winter days.
This particular car has the top-end Comand system fitted which not only offers satellite navigation, but also has an in-built 6 CD/DVD changer and is capable of playing various media including DVD’s.
Another nice feature is the automatic load cover in the boot. Simply open the boot and the load cover automatically lifts up ready for you to load or unload, and the lowers again when you close the boot. It’s a really nice feature, and of course when loading taller items into the boot you can simply return the load cover to its rolled-away state.
The car also has the soft-close boot. So, no need to slam the boot – just let it drop down lightly into place and an electric motor will take over and pull the boot closed for you. Mercedes really do try to think of everything!
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped Service Log book.
The car was last serviced at 87,816 miles by 1st Class Marques so servicing will not be required for approximately another 15,000 miles.
